(ReliableNews.org) – February was not a kind month for the entertainment industry. Some of the most beloved actors passed away, including Ewen MacIntosh and Kenneth Mitchell. News has now broken about another tremendous loss.
Chris Gauthier died on February 23 at the age of 48. Tristar Appearances/Event Horizon Talent stated that he’d been sick for a short period before he “suddenly and unexpectedly” passed away. They didn’t provide any other details about the actor’s death. He starred in dozens of television shows and films throughout his career.
Gauthier was born in England but grew up in Canada. In an interview in 2021, he said he started acting in school plays and noted “I was always a ham, trying to be a funny guy.”
The actor was best known for his role as William Smee on the ABC show “Once Upon a Time.” The series was about a small town in Maine where storybook characters lived. They were trapped in the village by an evil queen. The actor’s character was based on Mr. Smee from “Peter Pan.”
Gauthier also starred in “40 Days and 40 Nights,” “Freddy vs. Jason,” “Supernatural,” “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” “Eureka,” and many other shows and movies. People who worked with him posted messages on X, formerly Twitter. Raphael Sbarge, who worked with him on “Once Upon a Time,” said a “sweeter, happier soul would be hard to find.”

Talent representative Chad Colvin told BBC that people might not have known his name, but they “knew his face” and knew if they saw him, they “were in for a helluva ride.”
The actor is survived by his wife, Erin, and his two sons, Sebastian and Ben.
