(ReliableNews.org) – “General Hospital” actor Billy Miller died in September. The 43-year-old was also known for his role on “The Young and the Restless.” A new report had shed new light on how he died.
Miller died in the bathtub in his Austin, Texas, home on September 15. RadarOnline.com obtained the Travis County Medical Examiner’s report, which details the cause of death. According to the report, paramedics pronounced the actor dead at the scene after arriving at his home.
The first responders were told that Miller had a history of depression and bipolar disorder. He appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to the head. There was a revolver in his right hand, and it contained .410 shotgun shells. Investigators found multiple letters at the scene that indicated he killed himself.
The medical examiner reported that the actor consumed a lot of drugs and medications before pulling the trigger, including diphenhydramine, amphetamine, cocaine, and other substances. He had a blood alcohol level of 0.08.
Miller died two days before his 44th birthday. After he passed away, his mom, Patricia Miller, released a statement to Soap Opera Digest and revealed he’d died by suicide. She said that he’d battled bipolar disorder for years and “did everything he could to control the disease.” She went on to say that her son “loved his family, his friends, and his fans,” but sadly, the “disease won the fight, and he surrendered his life.” She concluded her statement by saying his family loved him very much, and they were trying to grapple with their loss. She thanked everyone for their support.
Miller was a three-time Daytime Emmy Award winner at the time of his death. He began his career as a model with Wilhelmina, but in 2007, he landed a role on “All My Children.” He worked there until 2008, then went to work on “The Young and The Restless,” where he stayed until 2014 and won three Emmys for his role as Billy Abbot. After working there, he starred in “General Hospital” until 2019.
