Biden Mocked for Struggling to Pronounce PACT Act

(ReliableNews.org) – In 2022, President Joe Biden signed the PACT Act into law, delivering on his promise to take care of veterans in America. The measure was set to deliver critical health care and other benefits to veterans exposed to health hazards while serving their country. The president recently delivered remarks in New Hampshire to commemorate the PACT Act’s one-millionth claim.

On May 21, Biden traveled to Nashua, speaking to a crowd of military members to celebrate the positive achievement for veterans. Toward the end of his remarks, the president struggled while trying to say PACT Act. Biden has a well-documented stutter that he’s had since childhood. Regardless of that fact, many people jumped online to make fun of the president’s mishap. RNC Research was one of the first to comment. The team posted a clip on social media with a caption that showed a string of nonsensical letters that was supposed to represent what was heard.

Several others mocked the president, including a Marine, a FreePressFail co-founder, and US Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) who retweeted the video and commented on inflation. She claimed it was up by 20%, but didn’t specify the timeframe to which she was referring. Other Conservatives piled on the insults, retweeting the RNC Research clip and adding their own text.

After Biden got the phrase out, the rest of the speech went smoothly. He praised the military and their families for the sacrifices they make for the country. The president told the crowd that the United States can do anything if “we act together.”

According to the National Institute of Health, about three million people in the United States stutter. While about 75% of children grow out of the condition, many carry the speech impediment into adulthood. Still, there are therapies that can keep the incidents of stuttering to a minimum.
