White House Announcement – A New Executive Order!
(ReliableNews.org) – In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to reverse Roe v. Wade, Democratic activists and lawmakers have pushed to protect abortion access across America while Republicans have worked to limit it. President Joe Biden has floated killing the filibuster to codify federal protections for the procedure. He also took action recently to address the issue.
Today's Executive Order works to safeguard access to reproductive health care services, including abortion and contraception. We will also do everything we can to protect the privacy of patients and their access to accurate information. Learn more:https://t.co/DTHcH0LG9Q

On Friday, July 8, Biden signed an Executive Order on Protecting Access to Reproductive Health Care Services. According to the White House fact sheet, the order ensures American women have access to FDA-approved abortion medication and contraception. It also requires Health and Human Services (HHS) to make sure women have access to emergency medical care by providing guidance to clarify the protections under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act.
The EO also takes steps to protect patients from deceptive practices, privacy violations, and healthcare information. It promotes and addresses safe access to abortion clinics as well as reproductive healthcare services.
After the president signed the executive order, The New York Times reported he spoke to the press gathered at the White House and called the SCOTUS decision “terrible, extreme and, I think, so totally wrongheaded.” He urged Americans to vote in the midterms in November.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump’s ex-attorney Jenna Ellis called the EO unconstitutional and claimed it ignores the Supreme Court ruling.
Biden’s executive order on abortion is patently unconstitutional and intentionally ignores the separation of powers and the Supreme Court’s decision. He is destroying federalism and our rule of law and should be impeached and removed.https://t.co/5OltbbprCj
