(ReliableNews.org) – Sadly, the exploitation of young fans by musicians has been common for decades. Elvis Presley met his future wife Priscilla Beaulieu in 1959 when he was 24 and she was only 14. R. Kelly reportedly married a 15-year-old singer in 1994. His trial on 21 charges related to child pornography is set to begin in Brooklyn, New York, this week.
On Friday, August 13, folk icon Bob Dylan joined the growing list of accused musicians with the filing of a lawsuit against him on behalf of a 68-year-old woman identified in court documents as “JC.”
Bob Dylan has been sued for allegedly drugging and sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl in 1965, per @NYDailyNews.

The lawsuit claims Dylan exploited his superstar status by grooming her “over a six-week period” to “lower her inhibitions” for the purpose of “sexually abusing her,” beginning in April 1965. JC was 12-years-old. The complaint also accused Dylan of using drugs and alcohol along with “threats of physical violence” to control her.
The body of the civil complaint details four causes of action for assault, battery, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
JC’s lawyers, Daniel Isaacs and Peter Gleason seek compensatory damages to cover her ongoing medical care related to the abuse and punitive damages due to Dylan’s malicious and oppressive intention to cause injuries to JC.
Isaacs and Gleason filed the lawsuit hours before an extension expired under New York’s Child Victim Act lookback window. A spokesperson for Dylan, now age 80, denied the allegations laid out in the suit. A court date has not yet been set.
