Body Found in Wyoming, Believed to Be Missing Gabby Petito

(ReliableNews.org) – A body matching 22-year-old Gabby Petito’s description was located by FBI officials and local law enforcement on Sunday, September 19, in Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming.

A tip from a video blogger named Jen Bethune was able to help the authorities. Coincidentally, one of Bethune’s fans tagged her in a post along with information regarding Petito’s disappearance. Bethune remembered seeing a van with Florida plates in late August while driving through Bridger-Teton National Forest. Since she hails from Tampa, Florida, Bethune told Fox News the van stood out in her memory because it had plates from the Sunshine State.

Upon the discovery of what was said to be Petito’s body, a rainbow reportedly appeared close to the location where authorities found her.

Family members of Gabby Petito lost contact with her in late August while she was traveling the country with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie. He returned to the home he shared with her on Sept. 1, reportedly offering no explanation regarding her whereabouts. Ten days later, her parents reported her as missing to local law enforcement officers, sparking a massive search for Petito.

Law enforcement officials served a search warrant to her boyfriend’s parents at their North Port, Florida home on Monday, Sept. 20. Later that afternoon, they visited Laundrie’s sister’s home, Cassie Laundrie, completing a second search warrant on computers and hard drives found in Petito and Laundrie’s van.

Laundrie’s current whereabouts remain unknown, but law enforcement officials hope to locate him soon for questioning. More details are expected soon.
