(ReliableNews.org) – President Joe Biden asked Vice President Kamala Harris weeks ago to spearhead the administration’s effort to stem the flow of migrants across the nation’s southern border. However, she hasn’t announced any new security measures, nor has she visited the border. Meanwhile, a recent announcement from US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is setting off alarms.
On April 13, CBP issued a press release detailing the arrest of a convicted murderer by Texas agents operating out of the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) border sector in Texas. The subject, a Mexican national, had a prior criminal history for assault, and a murder conviction in Houston, Texas.

RGV agents apprehended 1,625 aliens with prior criminal convictions this fiscal year. That news item was buried in the press release and represents an increase of 380% over last year’s total of 338. Those individuals were convicted in the US for a wide range of serious crimes, including murder, assault, narcotics smuggling and sex crimes.
It’s time the Biden administration took steps to halt the flood of dangerous illegal migrants. A primary responsibility of government is to provide for the safety and security of its citizens. So far, the Biden administration is not receiving a passing grade on its performance.
