(ReliableNews.org) – On Tuesday, July 27, Congress’ Office of Attending Physician Brian P. Monahan sent an email to lawmakers notifying them a mask mandate was going into effect. The US Capitol Police released a notice that they’d arrest people who refused to comply. Republicans immediately lashed out at Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), including one who called her a “tyrant.”
Rep. Barry Moore (R-AL) posted a video on his social media accounts lambasting Pelosi for the mask rule. He reminded his followers the Capitol isn’t “Pelosi’s House – it’s the PEOPLE’S House” in the video’s caption. The congressman said the Democratic leader’s “power has gone to her head,” calling her a “tyrant.”

On Thursday, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed Pelosi in a speech on the Senate floor. He said power has corrupted her and she’s “drunk on power.”

Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) accused the Speaker of playing God. He decried the threats of arrest for those who won’t comply, calling it “medical apartheid.” Cawthorn made it clear he doesn’t believe the mask mandate will stand.
For her part, Pelosi called House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy a “moron” for speaking out against the mandate. She refuses to lift the mandate, despite concerns it violates the rights of the members of Congress.
