(ReliableNews.org) – COVID-19 is killing people across the globe. The situation in one South American country is particularly dire. The pandemic is overwhelming Ecuador’s resources and there are dead bodies lying in the streets.
Residents of the city of Guayaquil are leaving dead bodies outside as the hospitals and morgues are overwhelmed. Families of the deceased say they don’t even know if the virus killed their loved ones because of a lack of testing. In other cases, people who passed away are being misidentified. On April 8, Reuters reported President Lenin Moreno wants an investigation into the handling of the situation in the city.
Videos on social media show how completely the government failed its people.
In #Ecuador, hospitals are at capacity as bodies go without proper preservation.
Inaccurate reporting of the #CoronavirusOutbreak has put Ecuadorians in even more danger.

President Donald Trump has fended off attacks about his handling of the pandemic in America for weeks. However, the US is now predicting 60,000 people will die from COVID-19, down from 200,000. That number is still heartbreaking, for sure, but it isn’t nearly as bad as officials thought it would be.
National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director, Dr. Anthony Fauci, credits the social distancing steps the government called for as one of the reasons the number dropped. The president’s measures have kept the streets in America free of corpses.
