COVID Vaccine Now Mandatory for Euthanasia in Germany

( – Controversy over various COVID-19 restrictions and mandates has consumed much of the public attention in the United States over the last almost two years. Frequently, apparent contradictions between accepted science and government practices have appeared. However, the US isn’t alone. For example, Germany recently adopted a bizarre new mandate governing euthanasia — it seems you have to be vaccinated in order to die.

Verein Sterbehilfe, the country’s euthanasia association, recently adopted extreme restrictions regarding assisted suicide. On November 19, the association announced the updated procedures regarding assisted suicide and preparatory examinations.

According to the group, assisted suicide requires humans to come into close contact with each other. As a result, Verein Sterbehilfe will only provide euthanasia services to vaccinated individuals or persons who previously had COVID-19 (geimpft oder genesen).

The association used Germany’s recent use of 2G restrictions in various regions where hospitalization rates have reached certain levels. Under that rule, the government only allows “vaccinated or recovered” people the luxury of free movement outside their residence.

Verein Sterbehilfe’s notice conceded that the balancing act between individual freedoms and protecting the association’s doctors and staff members isn’t always an easy task. However, it promised that its medical head, Dr. Martin Goßmann, would provide direction when necessary.

What do you think? Do you buy the association’s argument that it’s okay to infringe on patients’ rights under the guise of compliance with harsh coronavirus-related restrictions?
