Dems Push For Sanctions On Russians in Debunked Plot

( – Democrats are once again using their positions in Congress to score political points. With the election right around the corner, maybe that shouldn’t be a surprise. This time they’re trying to force President Donald Trump to sanction Russia over something the Department of Defense has denied.

Democrats Introduce Bill

On September 10, Senate Democrats introduced a bill that requires Trump to say whether or not the Russian government was responsible for alleged bounties on American soldiers and allies. Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (NH), Bob Menedez (NJ), Dick Durbin (IL) and other Liberals sponsored the legislation. The group claims it was necessary because of the “Trump administration’s failure.”

If Trump were to certify that Russia was guilty, he’d have to impose sanctions on President Vladimir Putin or anyone acting on his orders. It also authorizes $50 million annually in rewards for people who report such bounties, and $30 million to counter the former soviet country’s influence in Asia.

Debunked Tale of Russian Aggression

The problem with the bill is that it’s based on an allegation that’s been disputed multiple times by the military. In fact, Jonathan Hoffman, chief Pentagon spokesman, said the “DOD has no corroborating evidence to validate” the report Russia was offering bounties for American troops.

With the election less than two months away, it seems more likely Democrats are using this tale to make it look like the president is in bed with the Russians…again. Clearly, they’re incapable of coming up with fresh fake news, so they’re falling back on the ol’ “Putin loves Trump” line.

The American people, however, are going to see right through that. The Left isn’t going to be able to spread a lie to chip away at the president’s support from the military. They know who he is and how much he supports them.
