(ReliableNews.org) – Everyone wants the country to get back to normal as safely as possible. The Trump Administration believes kids have to go back to school if that’s going to start happening. Recently, the secretary of education had an idea she shared.
During a July 12 interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace, Secretary Betsy DeVos said “kids cannot afford to not continue learning.” She wants to make sure schools open in the fall and stressed she isn’t talking about reopening in places where COVID-19 is spiking. But schools that don’t welcome children back into classrooms don’t deserve funding. Instead, the Trump Administration would redirect federal education funds to the families so they can find other options.

The reality is, distance learning isn’t good for all kids. Special needs students, in particular, may not do well. Furthermore, it’s just not the same, and research shows children are falling behind in their education. We need to get them back in the classroom and the administration is determined to do it as safely as possible.
