(ReliableNews.org) – Have you ever stood on a beach and thought about what it would be like to find a message in a bottle? It seems like such a far-fetched idea, especially considering the vast area of the oceans and rivers. However, one woman did exactly that recently and found a bottle that contained a very old message.
Last month, Jennifer Dowker was scuba diving in the Cheboygan River in Michigan when she found a bottle on the bottom of the river. Inside the bottle was an old piece of paper with a note on it that read: “Will the person who finds this bottle return this paper to George Morrow Cheboygan, Michigan and tell where it was found?” The date on the note was November 1926.

Dowker said that when she found it, she thought it was really cool. As the owner of Nautical North Family Adventures, she is no stranger to cool things in the sea, but this was different. She dried out the letter, took photos and posted it all on Facebook with the hope of finding someone related to the writer.
Her post was soon shared thousands of times and then someone alerted her that the man’s daughter had been found. Michele Primeau said her dad was a sentimental guy who had thrown other bottles in the water. She said he was an Army veteran who died in 1995. Dowker wanted to give her the letter back but she told the diver to keep it. She was just happy to know it existed.
