(ReliableNews.org) – In October, former President Donald Trump revealed he planned to launch a new social media company. Although it might seem strange that a former POTUS is creating his own internet platform, his reasoning will likely resonate with millions of Americans.
In a statement released by Trump Media & Technology Group, the former president explained he intends to go up against the current social media giants because of the alleged rampant corruption within the companies. The 45th president takes issue with the censorship by the platforms, calling them “self-righteous scolds and self-appointed arbiters.” He went on to accuse the tech giants of trying to control what Americans “think, say, share, and do.”

Trump’s new platform is called Truth Social. It will reportedly be a place for Americans to congregate without the fear of censorship, something the former president knows all too much about. In January, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, YouTube and others indefinitely banned him from their platforms.
In the statement, Trump said he might be the only American with the resources, megaphone and desire to create a new platform. A beta launch of the website will occur in November, with the full site launching in 2022.
“This is about saving the country,” Trump said.
Do you think Truth will take off and replace more censored social platforms?
