Dr. Fauci Wants To “Double Down” Against COVID-19 Despite There Being Fewer Cases

(ReliableNews.org) – Top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci appeared to push things way too far while discussing countermeasures to the COVID-19 pandemic during a Sept. 28 appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America.

Dr. Fauci lashed out at the recent decision by Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis to reopen bars and restaurants, calling the decision “very concerning” and predicting it could lead to increased coronavirus outbreaks. Dr. Fauci also stated that now was the time to double-down on restrictions, not loosen them.

As a member of the White House coronavirus task force, it’s certainly within the realm of Fauci’s responsibilities to offer medical advice regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. However, it’s not within his purview to dictate state reopening measures.

At best, Dr. Fauci’s position on COVID-19 countermeasures has been evolving. He has readily admitted to making mistakes along the way regarding appropriate countermeasures to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fortunately, the Centers for Disease Control published a series of guidelines covering a range of topics including recommended reopening procedures, parental guidance, travel considerations, and more.
