(ReliableNews.org) – After the 2020 election, former President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani traveled to battleground states to speak to state legislators about allegations in election fraud in their individual states. One of the places he traveled to was Michigan where he brought a witness with him.
One of the people who accompanied him was IT worker Mellissa Carone. She became an internet sensation after her testimony before Michigan lawmakers. Now, she is using her name recognition to try to change her state for the better.
In a January 22 interview with Deadline Detroit, Carone said she is planning to run for Michigan’s 46th House District. The 33-year-old explained she wants to clean up Lansing, the state capital, and drain the swamp like what was done in Washington, DC. That was one of Trump’s most celebrated accomplishments over the four years he was in office.
In addition to the swamp draining, Carone said she wants to “get [the state’s] ballots hand-counted.” Experts believe hand counting votes will cut down on the possibility of fraud because there won’t be any way for a voting machine to switch votes. That’s what Dominion Voting Systems, the company she used to contract for, was accused of doing during the last election. The company has denied the allegations, and recently sued Giuliani for defamation over the claims.
It’s clear from Carone’s statements that she hopes to accomplish the same goals as former President Trump. He has inspired a new generation of activists who are running for office to make America great again. Several other women, including Reps. Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene, have made the same move. Not only is Trump inspiring, but he is actively making the GOP more diverse.
Although Trump did not ultimately win the 2020 election, he continues to lead the party and try to make America a better place. Hopefully, people like Carone will help make that happen.
