(ReliableNews.org) – Tesla Founder Elon Musk has become very popular over the last few years. Not only has he created cars that drive themselves and rockets that have picked up where the NASA Shuttle Program left off, but his words hold a lot of sway. Recently he made a joke about harnessing his popularity to build another career.
On December 9, Musk tweeted that he was thinking about quitting his job to become a social media influencer. Jimmy Donaldson, better known as Mr. Beast, told the SpaceX founder that he’d help him harness his popularity to get views on YouTube. Musk responded with a praying hands emoji. Another influencer told the billionaire he would be his first subscriber on Only Fans.

Although Musk was probably just joking, he’s known for his random posts that drum up controversy, there’s no denying his power on social media. The billionaire can cause the price of Tesla shares to plummet or rise depending on what he says. In May 2020 he tweeted about the share price was “too high” and they soon dropped. In 2021 he backed the cryptocurrency Dogecoin, which started with an online meme and caused the company’s value to skyrocket. Then, during an appearance on Saturday Night Live, he joked about the cryptocurrency and caused its value to drop. He actually probably could become an influencer with very little effort.
What do you think about a possible career change for the world’s richest man?
