(ReliableNews.org) – Democrats complained about Trump’s former Secretary of Education for nearly four years. Her alleged crime? She didn’t have a background as an educator. As it turns out, working in education before having a White House job may not be all it was made out to be.
On April 27, prosecutors from the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York announced the arrest of a former senior advisor on education to former President Barack Obama for plotting to steal $218K from a network of public schools in Harlem, New York.
Seth Andrew, a former Obama White House advisor, has been charged with wire fraud, money laundering, & making false statements to a financial institution in connection with a scheme where he allegedly stole $218005 from a charter school network he founded.https://t.co/F40vP2sTFB

Seth Andrew founded Democracy Prep Public School in 2005, roughly nine years before he started working for Obama as the Department of Education’s Superintendent-in-Residence and as a senior advisor to the Office of Educational Technology.
Federal prosecutors accused him of using more than half of the money he took from Democracy Prep to maintain a minimum bank account balance to receive a better interest rate on a mortgage for his home.
Andrew faces charges of making false statements to a financial institution, money laundering, and wire fraud. The first charge carries a maximum sentence of 30 years, and the remaining charges carry 20 years each.
