(ReliableNews.org) – For 18 seasons, the Brown family has allowed cameras into their unconventional lives. The TLC show “Sister Wives” followed Kody Brown, his four wives, and their combined 18 children. One of the children recently passed away.
On Tuesday, March 5, Garrison Brown, Kody and Janelle Brown’s son, died at a home in Arizona. According to TMZ, the 25-year-old’s younger brother, Gabriel, arrived at the home and found his brother dead. Flagstaff police officers responded to the scene after receiving a call about a death. Gabriel allegedly discovered a gun in his brother’s hand.
Police have said it appears Garrison died at his own hands. There was no sign of foul play at the scene.
Garrison reportedly lived in the home with three roommates. Some of them allegedly told officers they heard a pop on Monday night but didn’t think it was a gunshot, so they didn’t investigate.
TMZ reported the roommates said that Garrison was struggling with alcohol at the time of his death. However, his brother said he’d recently started a job at a medical facility and appeared to be doing okay.
Garrison’s mother wrote a message on social media stating that she and her ex-husband were sad to announce that their “beautiful boy” had died. She called her son a “bright spot in the lives of all who knew him” and said his loss would leave a massive hole in their lives. She asked everyone to respect their privacy.
The victim appeared on his parents’ television show from the time it began airing in 2010. He was just a child at that time. When he became an adult, he joined the National Guard and moved out of his parents’ home. Reports indicated that Garrison and his father had become estranged at the time of his death. The Browns separated in 2022 and later divorced. Janelle had previously spoken about her ex’s strained relationships with his kids.
TLC issued a statement expressing the network’s condolences.
