(ReliableNews.org) – The annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) provided a chance for conservative elected officials, organizations, and activists to exchange ideas. The event was Held in Orlando, Florida, from February 25 to 28, and hosted various speakers, with Donald Trump giving the keynote address.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) used the gathering as a chance to blast House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) during a February 27 panel discussion. Pelosi had pushed Joe Biden’s COVID-19 relief package in the wee hours of the morning.
As McCarthy explained, Pelosi managed to sneak in a $140 million windfall for her district at the expense of needed relief efforts. However, Republicans wanted to use the relief package to get children back to school. “It’s an easy discussion,” he continued. The priorities should be getting Americans “back to work, back to school, back to health.”
McCarthy’s remarks echoed an op-ed he published on Fox News last week. He pointed out that the Trump administration and Congress delivered bipartisan relief for Americans five times during the course of the last year. Sadly, although Biden campaigned on bringing the nation together, he has made no effort to work across the aisle.
