(ReliableNews.org) – House Democrats decided to move forward with a resolution to strip Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) of all her committee assignments for the apparently unpardonable sin of liking and reposting a few controversial social media posts prior to assuming office.
As the old saying goes, “turnabout is fair play” — particularly in politics. House Republicans responded to the news by mounting an effort to remove progressive Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from her committee assignments. A member of the now-infamous “Squad,” Omar is known for making anti-Semitic remarks and engaging in other controversial matters.
C) Fox has obtained a proposed GOP amendment to that resolution which would kick Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) off of her committees “in light of conduct she has exhibited.”

Award-winning Fox News congressional reporter Chad Pergram reported on February 3 that five Republican representatives are spearheading the effort to remove Omar’s assignments.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) attempted to negotiate an alternative punishment for Green. However, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) shot down the idea, telling him to expect a vote on Thursday on the measure to remove Greene’s assignments.
