ReliableNews.org) – Earlier this year, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) voted to strip Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) of her committee seats for things she’d done prior to becoming a congresswoman. Now a Republican lawmaker wants Omar to be given the same treatment in light of her continuing and most recent and anti-Semitic remarks.
On Thursday, July 1, House GOP Israel Caucus Co-Chairman Lee Zeldin (NY) told Fox News that he doesn’t think Omar should be on the Foreign Affairs Committee any longer. He explained that he doesn’t think that she “understands what the problem is” with her recent remarks by saying that her Jewish colleagues don’t know what discrimination is and they don’t fight for human rights.
This person is sick. @Ilhan was asked a very specific question about whether she understands why Jewish Members of Congress find certain comments she made to be antisemitic, & Omar responds by dodging the question & ripping into those Jewish members. pic.twitter.com/aQeRdrkwYU

Zeldin said that he believes there is a “100% chance” that “Omar will continue to make anti-Semitic remarks” and he wants to see “actual consequences.”
Currently, there are two ways Omar can lose her committee seats. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) could remove her from the Foreign Affairs Committee. The other way is through a House vote. Unfortunately, Democrats currently control Congress and Pelosi has said she has no plans to punish Omar. The only way she will receive punishment for her remarks is if the voters refuse to send her back to Congress next year or the House GOP regains control and removes her from her committees.
