(ReliableNews.org) – Joe Biden made a lot of tough talk regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin on the campaign trail. No doubt America needs to keep a wary eye on Russia. However, there’s a big difference between taking a guarded approach to diplomacy and making outrageous claims that could come back to haunt the individual making them.
Joe Biden confirmed his belief about Putin during an interview with ABC News host George Stephanopoulos on Wednesday, March 17. Stephanopoulos said, “you know… Putin. Do you think he’s a killer?” Biden replied, “mm-hmm, I do.”

The interview occurred in the wake of the March 16 release of a 15-page intelligence report about foreign meddling in the 2020 US elections. That report concluded that Putin either directed or sanctioned Russian-led efforts to throw the election to Donald Trump.
Asked about the report, Biden said that Putin “will pay a price” for his role in the election. Asked what that might entail, he responded that you will find out “shortly.”
Being tough on a foreign adversary is one thing. Making a major claim against a world leader and following that up with a threat is not likely to win Biden any favors with Russia or other world leaders. What was he thinking?
