(ReliableNews.org) – According to recent Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates, new cases of COVID-19 are on the rise nationwide, with the seven-day moving average ending on July 22 showing an increase of 46.7%. It appears the CDC and the Biden administration might be on the brink of imposing new restrictions on the country in the wake of this news.
President Joe Biden held a town hall meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio, the evening of Wednesday, July 21. He told attendees in no uncertain terms that the CDC will issue a new guidance statement directing that all children under the age of 12 “should probably be wearing a mask” while attending school.

Continuing, Biden said that anyone older than 12 years old who received one of the COVID-19 vaccines shouldn’t have to wear a mask. But, inversely, anyone over 12 who hadn’t been vaccinated should have to join their younger classmates in wearing a face mask. Biden concluded his remarks by stating that having children wear masks was a part of “community responsibility.”
So far, 66.1% of the US population over the age of 12 has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 57.2% are fully vaccinated as of July 22, according to a recent CDC report. Currently, children younger than 12 are ineligible to take the vaccine.
