Johnny Depp's Rep Debunks Rumored Return to Pirates Franchise

Johnny Depp Gets The Last Laugh As Disney Begs For Him To Return To Pirates Franchise

(ReliableNews.org) – When actor Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard accused him of physical and sexual abuse, Disney dropped him like a hot potato. The company didn’t wait to see if he would be charged with a crime, executives just assumed he was guilty and fired him. Now, rumors are swirling that Disney wants him back, but are they true?

Fans are going to be disappointed to learn the gossip isn’t true. A representative for Depp has revealed to the press there are no current negotiations to bring the actor back into the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise.

Reports in the last week of June claimed Disney was going to offer Depp more than $300 million to star in another film. The news spread like wildfire among hopeful movie fans who wanted to see the actor reprise his role as Jack Sparrow. As for the eye-popping figure, it didn’t seem out of the realm of possibility because the franchise has made Disney more than $4.5 billion.

During Depp’s defamation trial, he said nothing Disney could give him would be enough to play the role again. A lawyer asked him if that included “$300 million dollars and a million alpacas,” he responded, “That is true,” not even those things would convince him to work with the company again.

Would you like to see Depp revise his role as Jack Sparrow?
