(ReliableNews.org) – Over the last two weeks, Democrats have called for Attorney General Bill Barr to resign over his handling of Roger Stone’s sentencing recommendation. Now, a judge has confirmed that he did the right thing.
On Thursday, US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson sentenced the former Trump Campaign adviser to 40 months in prison for obstruction and other charges. During the sentencing, the judge said the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) original proposal of 87 to 108 months was “greater than necessary.”
Earlier in the day, President Donald Trump tweeted support for Stone, calling out others who committed similar offenses:
“They say Roger Stone lied to Congress.” @CNN OH, I see, but so did Comey (and he also leaked classified information, for which almost everyone, other than Crooked Hillary Clinton, goes to jail for a long time), and so did Andy McCabe, who also lied to the FBI! FAIRNESS?

When the DOJ originally handed down their recommendation for Stone’s sentence, Barr thought it was too long. He got involved, which caused prosecutors to resign from the case and the media to go nuts. It turns out he and President Trump were right all along.
