(ReliableNews.org) – During the race for 2020 Democratic nomination there were allegations that Kamala Harris’ campaign was toxic. The now-vice president’s state operations director, Kelly Mehlenbacher, stepped down and revealed a dysfunctional campaign. It seems those issues have carried on in the White House.
On June 30, Politico published a bombshell report accusing the vice president of running an office that is extremely tense. According to the article, after Harris made the decision to go to the southern border, her aides and allies spent days talking to one another about political fallout. The situation was apparently not unusual. Twenty-two current and former aides told Politico that the office is dour and tense. Her chief of staff, Tina Flournoy, is accused of disrespecting the staffers and throwing them “under the bus.”
One staffer said it’s an “abusive environment” that is “not healthy” and people feel as though they are being “treated like s**t.”

The way Symone Sanders, Harris’ senior advisor and chief spokesperson, responded to the allegations gives the world a taste of what it’s like to work for the VP. Instead of taking the complaints seriously and apologizing that people reportedly felt treated poorly, she said the staffers who spoke to Politico are “cowards to do things this way.”
