(ReliableNews.org) – House Democrats have repeatedly attacked conservatives in the chamber, often stripping them of their committee assignments. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is making it clear he will treat Democrats the same way if the GOP takes back the House after the 2022 elections.

In a Breitbart interview published on January 10, McCarthy said Democrats started “picking and choosing” who they wanted on committees, something that has never happened before in the history of the chamber. He explained if he’s the next Speaker of the House, he is going to strip multiple Liberals of their committee assignments, including Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Adam Schiff (D-CA).
In February 2021, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), stripped Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) from her committee assignments. Later that year, the Democrats voted to censure and strip Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) from his assignments as well. Traditionally, party leaders discipline their own members in the House when they do something wrong. However, when McCarthy refused to bend to the will of Nancy Pelosi, she went after conservatives anyway.
The Republican leader warned progressive leaders that they would be met with the same energy if he took control of the chamber and now he has reiterated his promise.
