(ReliableNews.org) – All eyes are on Georgia’s January 5 runoff elections for two US Senate seats. Continued Republican control of the chamber depends on them winning at least one of those seats, while Democrats would need to claim a victory in both seats and the White House to take over the Senate. For that reason, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) donated $1 million to the re-election campaigns of both Republican candidates.
Graham told Fox News host Sean Hannity he wired the money to Republican incumbents Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) and Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) on November 23. As Graham explained, he transferred the money from his campaign account to a Republican committee working to elect Republicans to the Senate.
Continuing, Graham called on fellow Republicans to donate any remaining funds from their campaign accounts to help out in Georgia.

It appears that a substantial majority of Americans want a balanced government with Republicans in charge of the Senate. A recent Harvard poll found that about 56% of voters wanted a divided government, with only 44% wanting Democrats to control both chambers of Congress.
