(ReliableNews.org) – Former President Donald Trump has been the most popular Republican in decades. More people voted for him than any other sitting president in history. There’s been a lot of talk in the media about the party moving on without the 45th president, but one senator says that won’t happen.
On Monday, May 10, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told Fox News host Sean Hannity that Republicans who “try to erase” Trump from the party will be the ones “to wind up getting erased.” He explained he doesn’t think the GOP will grow if Trump is not playing a big role in the party. He specifically called out Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who has been a vocal opponent of the former president and who just lost her leadership role, saying she isn’t “the most popular Republican in America” — Trump has that title.
“To try to erase Donald Trump from the Republican Party is insane,” Lindsey Graham tells Hannity. “The people who are trying to erase him are going to wind up getting erased.”

Republican voters have repeatedly made it clear they want the former president to remain a leader in the party. His America First policies were extremely popular while he was president, and that’s no surprise. He oversaw record stock market gains, low unemployment, and tight border security. It’s about time for the hold-outs in the party to jump on the Trump train, or they might see themselves in Liz Cheney’s unfortunate position.
