(ReliableNews.org) – In a stunning move, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) joined Democrats and voted to impeach Donald Trump earlier this year. In the House, Trump allies attempted to oust her as chairwoman of the House GOP Conference but failed to win enough support during a secret vote on Wednesday, February 3.
However, on Saturday, the Wyoming Party voted to censure her and called for her resignation. She spoke out about that effort during an interview with Fox News host Chris Wallace the following day, telling him she’s not stepping down.

According to her, Wyoming’s state party believed in conspiracy theories regarding the election and denied Trump’s role in the January 6 riot in the nation’s capital. Elaborating, she said the “single greatest threat” to the nation is a president who would place self-interest above national interest and the Constitution. She also accused Trump of doing everything in his power to “steal [the election] himself.”
America knows that all of her accusations are untrue and stands behind Donald Trump. Cheney already faces at least one challenger to her seat in the 2022 midterm election, Wyoming state Sen. Anthony Bouchard (R). No doubt other leading Republicans in the state will toss their hat in the ring.
