(ReliableNews.org) – Steve Bannon, an ex-White House official during former President Donald Trump’s administration, is one of the Left’s favorite boogeymen. Recently, he’s been one of the targets of the January 6 Committee created by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). RINO Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) has joined the Democratic Party’s effort to put him in jail.
On Thursday, October 21, the House voted to hold Bannon in criminal contempt for refusing to abide by a subpoena issued by the mostly-partisan committee. In the lead-up to the vote, Cheney launched a vicious attack on the former Trump official. She claimed he was one of the planners of the riots on January 6, an event she has also repeatedly blamed Trump for causing. According to the congresswoman, Bannon is surely hiding something because he doesn’t want to participate in what the 45th president calls a continuation of the witch hunt against him.
After the Thursday vote, Cheney spoke to the press and claimed it was the right thing to do.
After nine Republicans vote with Democrats to hold Steve Bannon in contempt of Congress, GOP Rep. Liz Cheney says “this should not be a partisan issue.”

Republicans largely voted against the effort to hold Bannon in contempt. Prior to the vote, Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) slammed Congress for conducting an alleged criminal investigation and attacking Bannon for helping to plan the rally on the morning of that fateful day. He pointed out the former White House adviser was a private citizen at the time, and the First Amendment protected his actions. Apparently, Democrats were absent that day in high school civics class.
