Man Botches Bank Robbery Over Hysterical Reason

(ReliableNews.org) – Remember the television show, “World’s Dumbest Criminals” and the laughter it brought with it? It’s unfortunate the show went off air because the man in the next story would be a perfect addition to an episode.

On Thursday, August 13, Sussex Police revealed a man tried to rob a bank in southern England in March but walked away empty-handed because the tellers couldn’t read his note. He passed a note with the message reading, “Your screen won’t stop what I’ve got, just hand over the 10s and the 20s. Think about the other customers.” However, his handwriting was so terrible, the teller couldn’t decipher it, so the would-be robber ran away.

The criminal, later identified as Alan Slattery, 67, robbed another bank about a month later. He must have fixed his note because he made off with about $3,000. Then he tried to do it again, but also left with nothing that time. Police finally arrested him; at his hearing, the judge eventually sentenced him to six years in prison.

America also has its fair share of dumb criminals. A man once broke into a house in Houston, Texas, laid down, and promptly fell asleep. The homeowners came home to find Goldilocks in the bed.

Clearly, the lives of the thieves could be more rewarding if they found jobs and followed the law.
