Melania Trump Reveals the Death of Her Mother

(ReliableNews.org) – Speculation about where Melania Trump has been has swirled for weeks. The former first lady was absent from the family’s annual Christmas photo, which sparked vicious rumors on the internet. But, the reason for her absence was revealed recently, and it’s very sad news.

On January 9, Melania Trump announced that her mother, Amalija Knavs, passed away. The former first lady described her mom as a “strong woman who always carried herself with grace, warmth, and dignity.” She said that the 78-year-old was “entirely devoted” to her family and that they would miss her.

FPOTUS Trump said the entire family was very sad upon learning the news. He called his late mother-in-law “great and beautiful.”

The former president revealed on New Year’s Eve that his wife was taking care of her mother at a hospital in Miami. He told guests at the party that his mother-in-law was “very ill.” Her cause of death is not known.

Mrs. Knavs was born at the end of World War II in July 1945. When she was young, she worked on her family’s red onion farm. In 1964, she went to work for a state-owned children’s clothing factory in Slovenia. There, she created the patterns so the factory could mass-produce clothing. She also made clothes for her daughters, Melania and Ines. The former first lady has credited her modeling career to her mom, saying she was inspired by her mother’s work.

In 2018, Mrs. Knavs became a naturalized US citizen through a process called “chain migration.” That’s when the family members of a naturalized American sponsor other family members. In this case, Melania Trump, who was first lady at the time, sponsored her parents.

Mrs. Knavs is survived by her husband, Viktor, two daughters, son-in-law, and grandson, Barron Trump. The family has not announced arrangements for her funeral.
