Monica Lewinsky Says She’s Working To Not Be “Ashamed” Of Bill Clinton Affair - Announces Plans To Reclaim Her Narrative

(ReliableNews.org) – Monica Lewinsky was abused by the media for decades due to her affair with former President Bill Clinton. But now, she’s finally fighting back.

In a newly released video put out by Fast Company, Monica Lewinsky confirms that she’s been struggling with her self-image since her days with Clinton. She details the hard struggle she’s had being “ashamed” of her past, but now she’s focusing her efforts on helping victims of online bullying. She wants to help victims who are going through what she’s gone through.

“Working To Not Be As Ashamed…”

More than 20 years ago, Lewinsky had an affair with then-President Bill Clinton when she was a young White House intern. When news leaked of the relationship, both the media and Clintons attacked her. For decades, she had to endure horrible bullying. After years of silence, she started fighting back.

Now, Lewinsky has an anti-bullying campaign where she helps other people who are dealing with what she went through. She said she has been “working hard to be not as ashamed by it as I was.” Her public service announcements are incredibly powerful, here’s one for the 2019 anti-bullying month titled “The Epidemic.”

It’s wonderful to see she’s been able to move beyond the hate. Bill Clinton was her boss and in his position of power, he took advantage of her. He’s the one who should have endured years of ridicule, not her.
