(ReliableNews.org) – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has called for a 9/11-style commission to investigate the Capitol complex riots on January 6. However, information discussed in a recent interview with Donald Trump suggests she may soon regret that decision.
On Sunday, February 28, Trump told Fox News host Steve Hilton that he personally requested the deployment of 10,000 National Guard troops at the nation’s capital to back up Capitol Police officers.
Continuing, he said his administration conveyed that information to personnel at the US Capitol Building. “I heard they rejected [the offer],” he explained, noting that Pelosi controls the Capitol.

Pelosi’s office quickly denied the claim. Drew Hammill, her spokesperson, told The Washington Post that Trump’s remark was “completely made up.”
However, there’s a huge problem with that claim. Trump’s remarks were already confirmed by his former chief of staff Mark Meadows during an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on February 7.
As Meadows explained, Trump issued a “direct order” to the secretary of defense to have “as many as 10,000 National Guard troops” placed on alert for the January 6 joint-session of Congress. One has to wonder what Pelosi’s commission might have to say about that information.
