Adam Kinzinger List of Endorsements Includes Democrats
(ReliableNews.org) – Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) isn’t exactly at the top of the list of the GOP’s favorite politicians. The war veteran has repeatedly attacked former President Donald Trump and his conservative colleagues. He’s currently not running for reelection as a result of falling out of favor with the Right. Recently, he released his endorsements, and it was a bit shocking, even for him.
On October 11, Kinzinger began releasing his endorsements for the midterm elections through his PAC, Country First. The retiring Republican lawmaker created the organization as a mechanism to defend candidates he believes put country before party. On his list were four Conservatives, six Democrats, and two Independents.
Among the candidates Kinzinger endorsed is Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) in a re-election fight. According to the Country First website, he chose her because she voted to impeach Trump. He also endorsed Democrat Katie Hobbs for governor of Arizona.

Kinzinger told Politico that as a “pushed-out or a homeless Republican,” it would be easy for him to just endorse Conservatives in the primary, then ignore the general election. But he said he decided his group would “put [its] money where [its] mouth is” and support candidates he thinks will protect the democracy even if he doesn’t support their policies.
