(ReliableNews.org) – When the Senate comes back later this month, lawmakers have indicated they’re looking at another COVID-19 stimulus bill. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has even said the door might be open to more direct payments to the American people. Now, we are learning the bill might have a huge price tag.
According to Fox News, the bill could cost $1 trillion. The Trump Administration is trying to keep the price tag as low as possible, though. They’re reportedly worried about the US’ massive deficit. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), however, wants it to be at least twice that.
PELOSI says next COVID relief bill cannot only be $1 trillion, like Republicans/WH have indicated.
Says it needs to be:
~$1 trillion for state and local~$1 trillion for unemployment insurance and direct payments
And an additional amount for testing & tracing

Yes, there’s no doubt lawmakers will have to pass another relief bill in these unprecedented times. But when is enough, enough? As it stands, our children and grandchildren are going to be stuck footing the cost for this; do we really need to saddle them with more debt?
