(ReliableNews.org) – Bendixen & Amandi conducted a poll at the beginning of March regarding Miami-Dade county’s position on Governor Ron DeSantis’ (R-FL) reelection in November. The findings released on March 14 showed the governor held a favorable seven-point lead among voters. Considering the county is historically Democrat-leaning, the results were surprising and showed the majority of the South Florida residents support the politician and his policies.
In past years, voters favored Democrat candidates in Miami-Dade by hefty margins, but it appears these residents are likely to shift their support come November.

Pollster Fernand Amandi revealed to the Miami Herald that the poll shows what many have observed in the area, especially among Hispanic voters. According to the survey, a whopping 51% of Hispanics and 59% of Cuban Hispanics surveyed had a negative view of President Joe Biden. This number drastically contrasts with former President Donald Trump and DeSantis, who both hold a 55% approval rating among Cubans.
Amandi stated Democrats need to get “back to basics” if they want to win back the majority. As it stands, Trump or DeSantis would likely see more support in Miami-Dade if either one ran head-to-head with Biden in the upcoming general election and that’s a big loss for Dems.
