President’s Approval Rating Continues Shrinking

Biden's Approval Rating Continues Shrinking

(ReliableNews.org) – When President Joe Biden took office in January, he was relatively popular. However, over the last eight months, that popularity has been shrinking, with his presidential approval rating settling to record lows.

According to a Gallup poll published on September 22, the president’s approval rating has hit an all-time low. Only 43 percent of the people surveyed said they approve of the job Biden is doing. Independents made up the largest percentage of losses for the POTUS, with only 37 percent currently supporting his performance.

Biden’s approval rating has also slipped with Democrats. In January and early February, 98 percent of the party supported him. Now, that number has dropped to 90 percent.

Also notable from the poll is that the president’s overall disapproval rating is higher than his approval rating.

The renowned polling site, FiveThirtyEight, has also documented the Democratic President’s sliding approval ratings. Its latest polling average (a measure of all the current polls), found his disapproval rating is at 48.3 percent, while his approval rating is 46.2 percent. The pollster’s graph shows people began objecting to Biden’s job performance at the end of July, and he hasn’t been able to stop the slide.

As the midterms approach, the president’s poor job performance spells disaster for the Democratic Party’s chances of maintaining power in Congress.
