Prince Harry Visits King Charles After Cancer Diagnosis

(ReliableNews.org) – Prince Harry and his family are on the outs. He and his brother, William, are not on speaking terms, and he rarely goes home to England to visit. In fact, he was recently there for less than a day after learning his dad, King Charles III, has cancer.

On Monday, February 5, Buckingham Palace announced doctors diagnosed the 75-year-old king with cancer. The palace didn’t say what kind of cancer he has, but did say it wasn’t related to the prostate procedure he had recently.

Prince Harry flew to London on Tuesday on an overnight flight. He reportedly met with his father at Clarence House for 30 to 45 minutes. After the meeting, the king left for a flight to Sandringham. The next day, Harry was spotted at Heathrow Airport to head back to California.

Harry didn’t see his brother, the Prince of Wales, when he visited London. The siblings still aren’t on speaking terms. William resumed his duties on Wednesday, after taking time off to care for his wife Catherine, who recently had abdominal surgery. He carried out an honors ceremony at Windsor Castle and then went to a fundraiser in London.

The brothers’ rift dates back to Harry’s decision to step down as a working royal. In 2021, an interview between Harry, his wife Mghan, and Oprah aired. The couple told Oprah that Meghan experienced racism from members of the royal family. A year later, the Netflix documentary, “Harry & Meghan,” aired, and Harry expanded on the problems with his family. That year, he traveled back to the UK to attend his grandmother’s funeral, and in 2023, he went to his father’s coronation.

In 2023, Harry’s book “Spare” was released to the public. In it, the younger royal said he and his brother got into a physical fight when he decided to step down as a working royal. The book compounded the problems between the siblings, and it appears the relationship is still in a terrible place.
