(ReliableNews.org) – Dr. Anthony Fauci has flip-flopped on several policy positions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic this year. For instance, he initially said face masks weren’t necessary for preventing the spread of the coronavirus but reversed himself a few weeks later. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has consistently spoken out against Fauci’s conflicting advice, most recently about the subject of school closures.
Fauci maintained for months that school openings were “complicated” and would vary by surrounding infection levels. However, during a November 29 interview, he stated the government’s position should be to get children back to school and keep them there.
Dr. Fauci: "The default position should be to try as best as possible within reason to keep the children in school or to get them back to school […] if you look at the data the spread among children and from children is not really big at all"pic.twitter.com/G0MqlA0NDQ

Conservative activist Jack Posobiec responded to Fauci’s remarks, tweeting he owed Rand Paul an apology. As support, he linked a New York Post article from over the summer detailing a debate between Sen. Paul and Dr. Fauci over school openings.
No, he owes one to every single parent and school-age child in America. https://t.co/bOieJhtuqJ

As you can see from the tweet above, Rand Paul responded “no,” that Fauci owed an apology to school-aged children and their parents for his conflicting guidance.
Dr. Fauci is considered by many to be one of the country’s best experts on epidemics. However, it doesn’t help when he appears to reverse himself on such essential matters. Perhaps Sen. Paul is correct, and he does owe Americans an apology.
