(ReliableNews.org) – The June presidential debate raised questions about President Joe Biden’s ability to lead. Rumors have swirled that there has been a concern about it for months. House Republicans have issued subpoenas for some of the president’s top aides.
On July 10, the House Oversight and Accountability Committee announced Chairman James Comer (R-KY) issued subpoenas for three Biden administration officials. The employees, Ashley Williams, Annie Tomasini, and Anthony Bernal, are accused of forming “a protective bubble around” the president, according to a former Biden aide. The aide also claimed the president is “staffed so closely that he’s lost all independence.”
The committee claimed the administration has refused to make the aides available for questioning in the past. Comer said White House officials have “shielded three key aides from testifying” about the classified documents found at Biden’s home and office. The chairman also said the very same aides were trying to keep the American people from learning about Biden’s alleged “declining cognitive state.” Further, Comer declared the president “unfit for office” and said the aides must talk to Congress and answer the questions the country wants answers to.
Republicans are concerned the president might have a larger issue going on than his well-documented stutter. They have raised questions about a neurologist visiting the White House earlier this year. The neurologist is also a Parkinson’s Disease expert. The administration has denied the president is covering up an illness. They pointed to his February physical, which specifically mentioned he was tested for Parkinson’s and other neurological disorders and the tests were negative.
In recent days, multiple Democrats have called on Biden to drop out of the presidential race. They, too, are concerned he isn’t fit to run the country. The president has refused to do so and told the party that he’s the best person for the job and believes he’s the only one who can beat Trump.
