(ReliableNews.org) – It’s closing in on a week since Donald Trump’s impeachment trial ended in his acquittal. But the blowback is just beginning for seven Republican traitors who teamed up with Democratic senators and voted to convict him.
Several state-level Republican committees have already voted to censure their senators for voting against Trump. Their state GOP committees have already censured senators Bill Cassidy (LA) and Richard Burr (NC).
The Louisiana GOP voted to “condemn” Cassidy in the “strongest possible terms,” and the North Carolina GOP called Burr’s vote to convict “shocking and disappointing.”

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) was censured by Pennsylvania’s Washington County Republican committee. Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) awaits a final decision by Maine GOP county committee leaders whether to call a statewide meeting to discuss taking action against her.
Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) may end up being the only Republican voting against Trump to receive a slap on the wrist. Utah’s GOP decided to issue a statement acknowledging his betrayal and pointing out Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) voted against impeachment.
State-level Republican Party leaders have made it crystal clear by their recent actions that they stand firmly behind Donald Trump.
