(ReliableNews.org) – It came as no surprise that Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) voted to convict Donald Trump at his second impeachment trial. Trump had already started plotting his revenge against her and others weeks before the hearings began. Things finally came to a head with Murkowski and Republican officials in her home state of Alaska over the weekend.
Members of Alaska’s Republican Central Committee passed a resolution to censure Murkowski on Saturday, March 13. The Anchorage Daily News reported that at least five state House districts already voted to denounce her shortly after Trump’s February impeachment trial.

The state committee’s official resolution listed several grievances against Murkoski, including her vote against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearing. However, Kris Warren, the resolution’s author, indicated her vote to convict Trump during his impeachment trial was the final straw.
The resolution’s conclusion stated that the Alaska Republican Party would recruit a primary challenger to oppose Murkowski’s candidacy for any future public office.
Anyone thinking Alaska Republicans can’t pull that off should consider Donald Trump’s recent vow to oppose RINOS (Republicans In Name Only) in future elections. It’s not like he doesn’t already have cause to support alternative candidates who can challenge and beat her in 2022.
