(ReliableNews.org) – Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearing began on Monday, October 12. Meanwhile, Democrats are still plotting ways to stop the process. On Sunday night, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) announced a new plan.
During a press conference, Schumer said Democrats aren’t going to “supply the quorum.” To move the vote out of the Judiciary Committee, the GOP needs two Democrats present. He also said they would provide a quorum for the full Senate, which is 51 senators (Republicans have that already).

Like most of their devious plots, this one is going to fail. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) can find ways around the quorum rule. The chamber could hold a vote and discharge the rule, allowing the majority leader to call for a full vote. The GOP reportedly has the votes they need to confirm Barrett, so all of these games are all for naught.
