(ReliableNews.org) – Newly-revealed documents in an old story show just how deep the anti-Donald Trump bias runs in the FBI. Shortly after the 2016 election, accusations arose the president’s campaign colluded with Russia. After years of harassment, those allegations were proven false at the conclusion of Robert Mueller’s investigation.
The case should have been closed, but new pieces of evidence have popped up over time. While Trump’s innocent verdict hasn’t changed, revelations about the scope of the witch hunt continue. The latest information proves that Michael Flynn, former national security adviser, was relentlessly pursued by the FBI, even when they didn’t have anything on him.
Before we talk about why the FBI would bother so much with Michael Flynn, we need to know about his past. The retired three-star general has expertise in international affairs, which stems from his military career. He retired from the military after serving as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. This experience made him the perfect person to work for the Trump administration.
Flynn spent a great deal of time on the campaign trail with Trump and became the national security adviser for just a few weeks. Then, he was accused of lying to Vice President Mike Pence about a meeting with a Russian ambassador.
During the investigation into the director, Pence stated he believed the retired General unintentionally misled him about the meeting.
This controversial connecting of the dots between the Russian ambassador, Flynn, and Trump is an angle the FBI looked to exploit.
New Dirt on the FBI’s Investigation
In early 2020, Attorney General William Barr requested a review into the Flynn investigation. The results of this deep dive showed the lengths some people went to in order to attack President Trump and anyone near him. A four-page document from 2017 was discovered showing FBI investigators searching for any way at all to implicate the retired general.

Additionally, the FBI’s extensive investigation into Flynn never yielded any evidence that he had contact with Russia. Officially, the law enforcement agency was set on “closing the investigation,” but that didn’t stop former agent Peter Strzok from delaying that action.
Instead, Strzok kept it open throughout his affair with Lisa Page, an FBI attorney.
In December of 2017, Flynn ultimately pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI. However, this recent revelation has led to his legal team moving to dismiss the case.
All of this would play out perfectly in a Hollywood blockbuster spy-thriller movie. “When there’s a will, there’s a way” aptly applies to the undue persecution of Michael Flynn. The will was to implicate the former general no matter what, and the way was any means necessary, including the FBI abusing their power.
