Singer Suddenly Passes Away During Onstage Performance

(ReliableNews.org) – Pedro Henrique was a gospel singer in Brazil. The 30-year-old had built quite a fan base throughout his career. Some of those fans watched him die at a concert recently.

On December 13, Henrique was performing for influencer Lôise Abreu at a private event in Feira de Santana, Bahia. The event was broadcast live across social media platforms. In videos shared across the internet, Henrique appeared to be doing fine. Then, he stood at the edge of the stage and asked the crowd to sing along.

Henrique pointed the microphone he was holding toward the crowd, but then he looked like he lost his balance and fell over toward his band. People rushed over to help him while the crowd looked on, horrified. Medics rushed him to a nearby clinic, but there was nothing doctors could do to save him, and pronounced him dead.

The singer’s record label, Todah Music, announced that he suffered a fatal heart attack during the performance. It’s not clear if he had any preexisting medical conditions that might explain why someone so young suffered a heart attack. Authorities have not confirmed the official cause of death. The record label described the singer as a “happy young man” who was friends with everyone and said they hoped the “Holy Spirit comfort[s] everyone.”

Henrique is survived by his 2-month-old daughter, Zoe, and his wife, Suilan Barreto. His wife posted a tribute to her husband on Instagram. She said that she longed to see him and travel with him again. Barreto promised to take care of their daughter like they’d dreamed of doing, and also said she would care for his parents as he did. She said she will always love and honor him.

The singer’s funeral and wake are going to be held in Porto Seguro, Bahia, where he was born. His record label released his latest single the day after his death.
