(ReliableNews.org) – Guns ‘N Roses is one of the most iconic rock bands in American history. Saul Hudson, known as Slash, is the lead guitarist for the band. He shared a heartbreaking update about his family recently.
Slash took to Instagram on July 21 and announced the death of his stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight. She was the daughter of Meegan Hodges, Slash’s girlfriend of almost a decade, and her ex, Mark Knight. Lucy-Bleu was just 25 years old when she died on July 19 in Los Angeles.
The guitarist said his stepdaughter was “an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.” He said that his family was asking for privacy at this time. He asked that people not speculate about her death.
Knight had about 35,000 followers on social media. She regularly shared food pics, artwork, and selfies. In her last Instagram post, she spoke to people she might have upset in the past. She apologized to anyone she made “feel excluded” or if she “manipulated/controlled” them. Knight said she’d missed many “opportunities and connections” because of her “disgustingly big ego, insecure heart and fear” of people seeing her vulnerability. She said she hoped her soul could “evolve from [her] poor job at being Lucy-Bleu.”
Thousands of Slash’s friends offered him and Meegan their sympathy. Violet Grohl, the eldest daughter of the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, said her heart was hurting for the family and offered them her love. A man named Ray Shaffer claimed to be one of Lucy-Bleu’s teachers at Makeup Designory also left a message on Instagram saying, “She was a super-bright, talented young woman.” He said that he hoped “she has found peace.”
Slash canceled a number of dates for his Serpent tour before announcing his stepdaughter’s death. He blamed the cancelations on “unforeseen circumstances” and let his fans know they could receive refunds for their tickets. He is expected to resume the tour at the end of the week.
