(ReliableNews.org) – The Democratic Party has been pushing for mail-in voting to keep people safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Republicans, however, believe it’ll lead to an increase in voter fraud and do not want to put the sanctity of our elections in jeopardy. In Texas, the GOP won a battle against the expansion.
Earlier this month, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit to stop counties from allowing people from using their lack of immunity to COVID-19 as a reason to vote from home. He argued the “fear” of getting sick “does not constitute a disability” under state law. On May 27, the Texas Supreme Court agreed with Paxton and blocked the expansion of mail-in-voting.
President Donald Trump, who is a vocal opponent of the push to expand mail-in voting celebrated the win.
Texas Supreme Court: Lack of immunity to COVID-19 alone not enough to vote by mail https://t.co/rAZVRF4nkj Big win in Texas on the dangerous Mail In Voting Scam!

Democrats believe the reason the GOP wants to stop the alternative ballot-casting method is so they can suppress votes. That couldn’t be further from the truth. The president and his party just want to make sure only registered voters choose the leaders of this country. At a time when election security has come under a lot of scrutiny, they’re merely trying to protect the integrity of elections. Everyone should be on board with that.
